SUMMARY OF ACTIVITIES
SASD Activity Summary 2008
- Secured $866,000 in funding for pv systems on 5 dairy farms and no cost energy audits on 12 farms.
- Designed large solar electric system for Town of Callicoon.
- Provided on-site technical assistance to 53 businesses and home owners.
- Conducted (10) 5 hour renewable energy workshops.
- Convened green retrofit and builders group.
- Provided phone and email technical assistance on 642 renewable energy inquiries.
- Consulted frequently with County Office of Sustainable Energy, Sullivan County Green Tech Park, and School districts.
- Presented renewable energy programs for 12 high school, 6 college, and 4 agricultural classes.

- Renewable energy systems for agricultural and other rural businesses.
- Sponsor regional conference on local sustainable economic development.
- Large and small community gardens powered by renewable energy.
- Youth Summit and Training Institute in renewable energy and agriculture.
- Collaboration with Country Economic Development Corporation, TSEC – The Solar Energy Consortia, County Office of Sustainable Energy, Sullivan Renaissance, Green Tech Park, Workforce Development, Partnership for Economic Development, Industrial Development Agency.
- County-wide network for public education programs on sustainable practices.
- School-based energy conservation and renewable energy education/action projects.
