Wind is a form of solar energy caused by the uneven heating of the atmosphere by the sun, the irregularities of the earth's surface, and rotation of the earth.

Wind turbines are available for small cabins, homes, very large structures and industrial usage. Like solar electric, the power is net metered which significantly shortens the time for system cost payback. Wind farms with several million watt capacity are possible in this area.
